Your Namibian adventure begins with a morning pickup in Windhoek, as we journey south into the captivating Kalahari Desert. Discover this unique ‘fossil desert’ with its iconic red dunes, golden grasses, and endless blue skies, stretching across three countries. Our lodge, nestled amidst Camelthorn trees, offers the perfect base to experience the Kalahari’s magic. Later, enjoy a breathtaking shared sundowner drive on the dunes, witnessing the desert transform under the setting sun—a truly unforgettable introduction to Namibia’s wild beauty, complete with potential sightings of antelope and zebra.

We depart for Sossusvlei after breakfast. While descending into the Namib Desert, we pass through the picturesque Khomas Hochland and through one of the scenic mountain passes. In addition to stopping for photographs along the way, the journey will take approximately 4 to 5 hours. Checking into one of the region’s premier lodges, we enjoy exploring the surrounding desert landscapes and attractions. Here you can relax after a delicious dinner and enjoy a restful evening.
Our next day begins early with capturing the soft, golden light of sunrise over the desert. Our guide will lead us on a stroll through the dunes in the cool morning air, where we will have excellent chances of seeing gemsbok, springbok, and ostriches in their natural habitat. The following morning is spent exploring the breathtaking landscapes of Sossusvlei. With its white salt pans and towering red dunes – some of the highest in the world – this region has become an iconic tourist destination. A photographer’s paradise, Dead Vlei is a surreal white clay pan surrounded by soaring orange dunes and dotted with ancient camelthorn trees dotted with haunting silhouettes. Our tour will also include a stop at the renowned Dune 45, a star-shaped dune that reaches over 170 meters high. You can climb to the top for panoramic views of Namib Desert if you are feeling adventurous. Lunch will be served at Sossusvlei Lodge, offering welcome relief from the midday sun. In the afternoon, we will take a short trip to the fascinating Sesriem Canyon, carved by centuries of water flow. The day ends with a relaxing stay at our lodge, where we can reflect on our unforgettable experiences of the day.
